Bambu Lab has put up an official page for the H3C, its next printer, with a date and a time: November 3 at 9:00 AM Eastern. Bambu calls it a tool changer with nine tools built in, and the teaser shows nine numbered tool docks across the front of the machine.
TL;DR
- Bambu’s page names it the Bambu Lab H3C, with the tagline “Tool Changer. Game Changer.” and a countdown to November 3, 9:00 AM EST.
- Bambu’s X post says “Nine tools, built into one printer” and “A New Tech to Swap.” The teaser shows nine tool docks numbered 1 to 9, with nine filament tubes arching over the top.
- Bambu describes it as a next-generation tool changer that makes multi-material printing faster and more reliable. That’s all the detail it gives.
- No price, specs or build volume yet. The FCC approved a Bambu printer listed as the H3C (model PF008P) on September 11.
My take
With all of the FCC teasers over the last few months and all of the patents, we finally have the H3C release date! I was hoping we would get a little more today, but at least we have something.
Little is still known about the coming machine, other than that it’s called the H3C, has 9 tools and is more than likely on the same H-series chassis. They are calling it a new “swap” technology.
I do still believe that, because of the H2C’s price decrease for Black Friday, the price of the H3C will fall around $2,500, but we could see something closer to $3K depending on the features it comes with. I do think $3K is a bit high, though, if they are looking to challenge Prusa and its INDX-equipped systems on price.
I am excited to see what this brings, and I know a lot of you are too!
What Bambu showed of the H3C
The H3C page on Bambu Lab’s site is short. There’s the name, the “Tool Changer. Game Changer.” line, the November 3 date and time, and a box to sign up for updates. Behind that runs a seven-second video on a loop.
The video opens on a fan of filament tubes arching over the printer. We counted nine, each lit in a different color. It then pulls back to a row of nine docks across the front of the machine, each with a small light under it and a number from 1 to 9. A toolhead hangs below each dock, and the build plate sits underneath. The still picture on the page (the one at the top of this story) shows the same scene.
Bambu’s posts on X and its official forum the same day add two lines: “Nine tools, built into one printer” and “A New Tech to Swap.” That confirms the nine tools in Bambu’s own words. The page’s description calls the H3C “a next-generation tool changer 3D printer” meant to make multi-material printing faster, more reliable and easier. Neither says how the tools swap, how fast, or what hotends they use.
The H3C FCC filing and leaks
The H3C name first showed up in a filing, not from Bambu. On September 11, the FCC approved a Bambu Lab device, model PF008P, listed as the “H3C 3D Printer”, with dual-band Wi-Fi. Bambu asked for its photos and manual to stay confidential, so the filing doesn’t show what the printer looks like. It was approved the same day as the X2D Pro.
3DPCC News reported that an image of a teaser with a November date appeared in a Bambu Lab Telegram channel on October 22 and was deleted soon after. The outlet says it couldn’t verify that independently, and we haven’t seen the original post. Either way, Bambu’s own page now confirms the date.
H3C price, specs and what we don’t know yet
- Price. Bambu’s current top multicolor printer, the H2C Combo, is $2,199 at Bambu’s US store (H2C price history) and drops to $1,899 in the Black Friday sale that starts October 27.
- Build volume, speeds and temperatures.
- Whether November 3 is a reveal, the start of preorders, or the day it goes on sale. Bambu’s page only gives the date and time.
- What the new swap tech actually is, and whether the H3C works with Bambu’s AMS filament units.
We’ll update this story on November 3 when Bambu shares more. The H3C is on our Coming Soon list, where you can sign up for a launch alert. Until then, you can compare Bambu’s current printers side by side.
